Jim Hightower’s advice

Never buy a pit bull from a one-armed man.

Never sign anything by neon.

Always drink upstream from the herd.

Jim Hightower

Jim Hightower was a populist Texas journalist and political activist.  He became editor of the Texas Observer in 1976, then became director of the Texas Consumer Association, ran unsuccessfully for a Democratic nomination to the Texas Railroad Commission (which regulates the state oil industry) and eventually was elected to two terms as Texas Commissioner of Agriculture (1983-1991).  Currently he is a writer and lecturer.
