It’s wise to choose a vocation you love, and good to be in a position to be able make that choice. In fact, my idea of a utopian society is one in which everyone is in a position to do what they love.

There are some jobs that nobody could really love: trash pickup people for instance, grave diggers, There are lots of others. Work shouldn’t define us although I recognize it usually does

I always felt conflicted about the “Do What You Love” mantra, but never could put my finger on why. This article in Slate and this article in HuffPost nailed it for me. I agree that its a wonderful ideal, but not realistic for 90+% of us.
