Voter suppression will decide control of Senate

If the Republicans gain control of the U.S. Senate, it will be because of the success of Republican state governments in discouraging voting by minority groups and by young people.  They hardly bother any more to disguise the real purpose of the new voting laws.

If the Democrats retain control, it will be because of the struggles of members of minority groups and young people to overcome these barriers.  It is too bad that President Obama and the national Democratic leaders do so little to repay that loyalty.

Efforts claiming to prevent voter fraud are just the new poll tax.

Here’s the thing Phil. India has voter ID for every citizen. That’s a lot of people in a really poor country. Mexico has state sponsored voter ID. Why can’t we do voter ID? It’s not like it’s expensive to get an ID card. Suppression? I think not. Not when I live in a state with a huge illegal population who misuse and abuse the free stuff available to them – like the ER – all too often. I’ve been to Mexico many times, and I can tell you straight up you wouldn’t be able to get a job as an illegal there, you wouldn’t be able to get housing, and you wouldn’t be able to vote. Yet they come here and get all three. People who can vote for free $h!t for themselves will certainly continue to do so.

Both reps and dems have their strategies:

I think the Democrats are using the old divide and conquer technique. They continue to divide black people and women away from the republican party (as seen in Furguson and the equal pay for women themes). The problem is I think they use exaggeration, propaganda, and outright lies to make their points. People can’t make decisions with bad information.

Meanwhile Republicans continue to appeal to their base and highlight the “threats”, “scandals”, and “lack of leadership” found in the current democrat administration. The problem is many republicans are elitist and more concerned with their own agenda than that of the people.

Of course their are good and bad people on both sides of the coin.
