Thank you for your kind wishes. I have what every American my age OUGHT to have, but few are in a position to obtain – savings, a company pension and Social Security, and good medical insurance.
My savings are invested conservatively in mutual funds, but could be wiped out by the next financial crash.
My pension could be in jeopardy if my former employer runs into major financial trouble.
And politicians of both parties keep talking about chipping away at Social Security and Medicare.
But as long as two of these, or even one of them hold up, I’ll have all I really need to survive, which is more than millions of others who are as deserving as me can say.
I’ve led a pleasant life, and I’m blessed in many ways, few of which I did anything to earn.
