You can only vote for the bill you got, not for the bill you wish you had. It was better than nothing at all is what can be said for it. You will not get any other.

Why won’t we get any other? Why do Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell set the agenda and the Democrats go along with it?

There was plenty of time for Democrats to organize and propose a better bill. Or to have separate votes on a corporate bailout bill and a help for the public bill.

The Democratic leadership says Donald Trump is an insane clown who also is the second coming of Adolf Hitler and also a puppet of Vladimir Putin. Yet they let him set the agenda and pretty much go along with in.

On the same week as the House of Representatives voted for impeachment, it also renewed the USA Patriot Act and approved a record-high military budget as proposed by Trump.

The impeachment was obviously doomed. You didn’t have to be a genius to perceive this. Even I could see it.

I understand why Chuck Schemer, Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden went along with Trump on the corporate bailout.

I am naive enough to be surprised and disappointed at Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar went along with it.

What is the point of supporting progressives if they are afraid to stand up to the plutocrats and warmongers?

But then again, if they pay a price for standing up to the plutocrats and we the progressive voters support them no matter what they do, why shouldn’t they?

Jimmy Dore in the Matt Stoller video said the American people are like grown children of alcoholic parents. We can’t bring ourselves to admit that our problems are due to people we love and trust. Instead we hate the people who tell us the truth.

We won’t get any other precisely because “American people are like grown children of alcoholic parents.”

If we do the same thing we’ve always done we will get what we’ve always got. There’s a huge psychological barrier to change. It is much higher than the political barrier.
